(Orlando Sentinel) - Eustis police arrested a man Friday after he allegedly tried rob a financial adviser’s office and, upon finding out there was no money, held its workers hostage, reports say.
Around 3 p.m., Jacob Parrish, 36, held up a Well Fargo Financial Advisors office, 127 N. Bay St., with a knife, according to WFTV-Channel 9. Three employees barricaded themselves inside an office, called police and sent them photos of Parrish.
Officers with the Eustis Police Department and deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, the news station reported. Some law enforcement agents took Parrish into custody while others freed the three workers using an office key.
Eustis police could not be reached for comment.
Parrish is facing charges of with armed robbery with a knife and three counts of false imprisonment, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office website.
He was booked in the Lake County Jail, where he remains on a $35,000 bond.
