(Israel Hayom) - Police suspect the couple of having purchased various types of insurance policies, then seeking to cash in on them by faking their deaths through forged documents.
Detectives began collecting evidence from a number of insurance companies, which appeared to show that the couple had reported the "death" of the husband four times and the "death" of the wife twice, in "tragic circumstances."
The investigation revealed that the woman previous worked in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster, and was therefore well-versed in the ins and outs of insurance claims.
The fraudulent claims the couple filed are estimated to be worth hundreds of thousands of shekels. The couple have been released from police custody to home arrest, and all their assets have been frozen.
