(City Wire USA) - Morgan Stanley’s Managed Advisory Portfolio Solutions has added new hybrid model portfolios offered jointly by Capital Group and Vanguard, as well as offerings from Natixis and Franklin Templeton.
The 10 Capital Group-Vanguard portfolios combine active funds from the former with passive ETFs from the latter. Capital Group had previously landed a range of 10 all-active American Funds model portfolios on Morgan Stanley’s platform.
‘Active-passive models are the fastest growing category and we are excited to be taking part in Morgan Stanley’s model lineup expansion,’ said Kris Spazafumo, vice president of model portfolio business development at Capital Group. ‘This new suite offers the best of both approaches by blending our active mutual funds with Vanguard’s passive ETFs.’
In November 2019, rival wirehouse Merrill Lynch added Capital Group-Vanguard models, at the time touting their exclusivity to the wirehouse’s advisors.
The new Franklin portfolios - Franklin Templeton Dynamic Core Asset Allocation models – on the Morgan Stanley platform also combine active and passive funds, as do the newly added Natixis Investment Managers Tactical Allocation models, which incorporate ETFs from State Street.
