Quickly-fired former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci is awaiting regulatory approval for the sale of his hedge fund, but he’s certainly not wasting time.
The Mooch still needs the greenlight from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to sell SkyBridge Capital LLC to Chinese airline and financials group HNA, according to Reuters, although a person close to HNA tells the newswire the deal is on track. Scaramucci, who stepped down from his White House role just 10 days into the job following the publication of his profanity-laden rant against other staffers, isn’t sitting idle, however, the HuffPost writes.
Last Tuesday, the Mooch sent out a tweet suggesting he’s getting into publishing, according to the publication. “Coming soon. Follow us here and on instagram at @ScaramucciPost,” he tweeted, launching a Twitter storm of reactions, according to HuffPost.
Amid rampant disbelief and no-thank-you memes, some Twitter users have offered a few alternative names for his new venture, such as "The Scaramucci Picayune,” “Moochington Post” and “Breitbart Lite,” according to the publication.
No matter, because Scaramucci is quickly becoming a TV celebrity. “Later today, he’s scheduled to co-host TMZ and “TMZ Live” with Harvey Levin, according to The Wrap. And on September 22, the Mooch is helping inaugurate “Guy Day Friday” at ABC’s “The View,” according to the publication. Host Joy Behar tells The Wrap that she had “a great conversation” with the Mooch after his departure from President Donald Trump’s inner circle, and got some “very juicy information.”
“Also I’m under F.B.I. surveillance at this point,” she tells the publication.
But multimillion-dollar hedge fund sales and TV appearances aren’t distracting Scaramucci from family matters. He’s also seeking a paternity test for his newborn son with estranged wife Deidre Ball, who had filed for divorce in July while nine months pregnant, according to the New York Post.
A source tells the publication that the Mooch suspects that she conceived the child with someone else while he was busy orchestrating his now-failed political ascendance under Trump.
The couple have another son who’s four years old and Scaramucci has two more children from another marriage, according to the New York Post. His attorney didn’t return the publication’s calls for comment and a rep tells the Post that Scaramucci plans to settle the matter “through appropriate legal channels,” declining comment on the paternity test.
The busy dad, however, still found time for a little socializing in Italy, according to SFGATE. Scaramucci was photographed with former first lady of San Francisco and current Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle in Rome September 10, according to the publication.
The pair, who were rumored to be having an affair while Scaramucci was still married — which the Mooch denies — were seen together at a benefit for the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center in Rome, SFGATE writes. Guilfoyle tells the publication through a statement by a Fox News spokesperson that they’re merely good friends.
