(NERDSTASH) - Shannen Doherty fortunately closed the chapter on her divorce before passing away. Amid her cancer battle, the actress was entangled in a bitter divorce with her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko. The pair couldn’t agree on the terms of the divorce, particularly spousal support. Although Doherty didn’t get her desired spousal support, she managed to walk away with some valuables.
Following Doherty’s passing, details of her divorce settlement came to light. The BH90210 actress kept her $6 million Malibu home alongside all the artwork, furniture, and personal property it contained. She also retained the rights to her production company as well as all of her premarital and post-separation earnings, compensation, and accumulations. The residuals will come from her work on Charmed and 90210. For the couple’s financial accounts, Doherty got several bank and retirement accounts, while Iswarienko kept several other bank accounts and all interest in his companies. The Hollywood star also received a Salvador Dali painting as part of the settlement. Although the exact painting is unknown, Salvador Dali’s artwork ranges from $3 to $22 million, according to Mutual Art.
The couple split their car collection, with the late actress leaving with a 1979 Ford Pickup Truck, a 2007 Range Rover, and a 2019 Range Rover. Kurt, on the other hand, kept the Mooney M-20 airplane, but under the condition he paid a one-time sum of $100,000 to his ex-wife. The photographer got to keep his pricey musical instruments and photography equipment. However, he was ordered to buy out Doherty’s interest in his camera equipment with $10,000.
InTouch Weekly reports that the exes agreed to a joint sale of their Dripping Springs, Texas. Finally, Doherty was granted “one-half of all licensing/syndication fees” from “all and any” of Kurt’s works.
Shannen Doherty Finalized Her Divorce In Her Final Hours
Doherty and Iswarienko agreed to the finalization of their divorce proceeding in the actress’ final days. The former lovers called it quits after 11 years of marriage in April 2023. However, their divorce dragged on for so long. Per reports, the late actress seemed to have had enough and filed paperwork declaring the dissolution of their marriage just a day before her death. In her final act she gave up her rights to spousal support.
The world said goodbye to Doherty on Sunday, July 13. Her publicist, Leslie Sloane, announced the news, writing, “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.” She was 53 years old.
