George Foreman Left Behind a Wife and 12 Children

George Foreman had 5 sons and 7 daughters, according to Men’s Journal. 10 of his children were biological, and two were adopted, per The Independent.

The 1968 Olympic champion shared several children with his first wife, Adrienne Calhoun, to whom he was married from 1971 to 1974, per the U.S. Sun.

His children with Calhoun include his oldest daughter, Michi Foreman, and his oldest son, George Foreman Jr.

After his divorce from Calhoun, Foreman welcomed a daughter named Georgetta with his girlfriend, Charlotte Gross.

Foreman’s second marriage was to Cynthia Lewis, and lasted from 1977 to 1979. The pair didn’t have any children together.

Nor did the boxer have any kids with his third wife, Sharon Goodson.

After his divorce from Calhoun, Foreman welcomed a daughter named Georgetta with his girlfriend, Charlotte Gross.

The outlet says Foreman wrote a post on Twitter after the 2019 tragedy that read in part, “First Sunday in 42 years without my Freeda. She’s with her maker now. 10 kids forever. Just 1 more day I wanted ok 1 more year, 1 more decade.”

At the time of his death, Foreman was married to Mary Joan Martelly, whom he wed in 1985, per The Sun.

Foreman and his final wife were the parents of five biological children, including two daughters and three sons. The boys were all named George, as were their older brothers.

The outlet says Foreman also adopted two daughters, Isabella and Courtney, during the marriage.

The Details of Foreman’s Will Aren’t Publicly Known

Not much public information is currently available concerning Foreman’s will. However, several outlets such as the Economic Times, speculate his assets will be divided by his immediate family members.

“George Foreman’s fortune is expected to be divided among his wife, Mary Joan Martelly, and his 12 children, but no official information has been released,” says an Economic Times report.

Foreman seemed close to his family, judging by the Instagram statement that appeared after his death.

The statement was unsigned, but seems to have been written by his family, and reads in part, “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers, and kindly ask for privacy as we honor the extraordinary life of a man we were blessed to call our own.”

The statement also says, “Our hearts are broken.”
