Who Will Inherit Pele’s $100 Million Fortune After His Death?

(SportsManor) - One of the most influential soccer players ever, Pele, passed away on December 29, 2022, aged 82. According to a statement released by the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, where Pele was admitted, he died of multiple organ failure. He is survived by his wife Marcia Aoki and seven children with his previous wives.

Pele had been suffering from kidney issues for a while now. He had been seen using wheelchairs and walking sticks in his last few years. In September 2021, it was revealed that Pele had been diagnosed with colon cancer. He began chemotherapy for cancer.

About a month ago in late November, Pele was admitted to the hospital as he was reportedly not responding to the chemotherapy. In early December, amidst the FIFA World Cup 2022, he was moved to palliative care. However, in the past few days, the news the soccer world dreaded became increasingly likely. And on December 29, Thursday, it was announced that Pele passed away.

The Brazilian soccer legend’s eldest daughter Kely Nascimento kept giving the world updates about her father on social media. She posted a picture of her family holding Pele’s hand captioned, “Everything that we are, is thanks to you. We love you infinitely. Rest in peace.”

Pele had played soccer for many different clubs for a long time, and as such, had amassed a net worth of $100 million by 2022. After Pele’s death, the question arises, who will inherit his $100 million wealth?

How many wives and children does Pele have?

Pele married three women during his life of 82 years. He first tied the knot in 1966 with Rosemeri dos Reis Cholbi. They welcomed three children together, two daughters and a son. Eldest daughter Kely Nascimento was born on January 13, 1967. Their son Edinho Nascimento was born in 1970 and their youngest daughter Jennifer was born in 1978. The couple divorced in 1982 when Pelé was romantically linked to Brazilian singer Xuxa.

During his marriage with Cholbi, Pele had two children with other women. Flavia Nascimento, born in 1968, was the daughter of Pele and journalist Lenita Kurtz. On the other hand, Sandra Machado, daughter of Pele and housemaid Anizia Machado was born in 1963. Sandra fought a case in court for Pele to recognize her as his daughter. She won the case after it was proven by DNA tests. She died of cancer in 2006.

Pele married his second wife psychologist Assíria Lemos Seixas in 1994. On September 29, 1996, they welcomed twins together through fertility treatments, daughter Celeste and son Joshua. The couple divorced after 12 years of marriage.

Pele’s final marriage took place in July 2016 with Marcia Cibele Aoiki, a Brazilian entrepreneur.

Pele had achieved several great feats during his life, one of which was his $100 million net worth.

After Pele’s death was announced by his daughter, it has not been made clear who will inherit how much of Pele’s wealth. However, it seems there will be many portions of this wealth going to the different families of Pele’s surviving children and his surviving wife.
