(Cosmopolitan) - Movement on Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness' divorce has reportedly stalled, as The Daily Mail reports that the couple are at an "impasse" over their $250 million fortune.
"Hugh and Deborra-Lee have not yet filed for divorce because they are struggling to reach an agreement on how to divide their assets," a source tells the outlet. "Deborra-Lee feels entitled to more money than Hugh is willing to offer."
The insider adds that "With a significant amount of money at stake, Deborra-Lee is determined to get what she believes she deserves from the separation. She is using the fact that Hugh is still married and involved with another woman against him."
A source previously confirmed to the outlet that the exes didn't sign a prenup, which further complicates things. "When they got married, they thought it would be forever," a source said. "Who doesn't? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh's career to get as enormous as it has. Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high."
As a reminder, Hugh and Deb announced their split in September of 2023, saying in a statement "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.
Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
